The View Hotel Monument Valley Review
The View Hotel Monument Valley
The View Hotel is the only hotel located inside the Navajo Monument Valley Tribal Park. It is located right next to the park’s Visitors Center.
The closest hotel outside the Park is Gouldings Lodge which also offers views of Monument Valley but further away.
If you want to know more about all the places to stay in Monument Valley check out our Monument Valley Accommodations Guide here.
The Iconic View
As the name already makes it pretty clear, from the grounds of The View Hotel you will have these amazing views of Monument Valley.
The View Hotel Monument Valley Rooms
The View Hotel offers different rooms. From double queen and king rooms to suites. Each of the rooms is is valley facing and has a private balcony.
Rooms With A View
The view varies depending on which floor your room is located on. On the bottom floor, you will have a little bit of ground level in your pictures. The second-floor rooms don’t have this obstruction and the third-floor rooms have cut-back balconies that allow for stargazing and absolutely unobstructed views of the impressive Monument Valley landscape.
Room prices increase by floor level and type of room.
View From The Balcony
This is the view from our double queen room on the first floor. As you can see the obstructions is minor, but it is there. If you want no obstruction whatsoever, we’d recommend booking a room on the second or third floor.
Amenities
Room amenities include comfortable pillow-top mattresses, a desk, flat-screen TV, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, and a private balcony overlooking the valley.
Rates
Room rates depend on seasonality, amount of people, and room type. Check available rooms for your travel dates below.
The View Monument Valley is very popular and booking ahead of time is necessary to get the room type you are looking for.

The View Hotel Monument Valley
Indian Rte 42
Oljato-Monument Valley, AZ 84536
Check-In & Check-Out
Check-in is at or after 4:00 pm. Check-out is before 11 am.
The View Restaurant Monument Valley
The View Restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner with amazing views of the red sandstone buttes. It is your only restaurant option in the area as there is not much else around.
Menu
The View Restaurant serves Navajo-inspired dishes along with classic American cuisine.
While the portion size was pretty big, we personally found the food to be pretty disappointing, unfortunately. Especially considering the price tag.
I’m sure, some people like it just fine, but it wasn’t for us as it is the case lots of times on road trips throughout the rural US where you have limited options.
The View Hotel Premium Cabins
The View Hotel Cabins are located a little bit further away from the hotel on the valley rim overlooking the sandstone monuments. Those cabins also offer incredible views of Monument Vally, maybe even better ones than at the hotel.
Cabin Types
There are two rows of log cabins. If you are looking for absolutely unobstructed views, make sure to book one of the front-row cabins.
The Monument Valley cabins also vary in size. Some cabins can sleep 5 people with one queen-size bed, two bunk beds in the back, and a pull-out couch. Others only sleep 4 people with one queen-size bed and two bunk beds.
Cabin Amenities
Amenities of the View Hotel’s premium cabins include a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, air conditioning, as well as a full private bathroom with a shower and a private deck.
The View Campground Monument Valley
The View Campground is located between The View Hotel and the Premium Monument Valley Cabins.
Right at the rim, you can park your RV to watch the amazing sunrise and sunset over Monument Valley.
There are also designated spots for tent camping by the rim, that offer jaw-dropping views too.
Campground Amenities
Full restroom and shower facilities are available as well as picnic tables. No fires are allowed.
Tribal Park Visitor Center & Gift Shop
The Trading Post at The View Hotel offers a big selection of contemporary and traditional American Indian Art, as well as memorabilia and souvenirs of Monument Valley.
As hotel guests, we got a small voucher for the gift shop.
This is also where the Visitor Center is located.
