How To Get To The Montezuma Waterfalls?
Montezuma Falls Hike
There are two access points to the Montezuma waterfalls. The Canopy route and the easier Riverbed Trail.
The Riverbed Trail starts right outside of town of Montezuma and is crossing the river multiple times to get to the lowest of the Montezuma Falls. This waterfall is also the biggest fall of the three and is the easiest to get to.
We took this Riverbed route when we visited
Montezuma Waterfalls Riverbed Trail
There is a parking lot just outside of Montezuma town after you cross a small bridge. If your hotel is near the Montezuma town center, you can totally walk to the waterfalls if you don’t have a car.
The trail starts from the parking lot, crossing the river multiple times. There are some sketchy and not-so-easy parts when crossing the river, especially when the water is high, but it’s doable. Lots of people are visiting the waterfalls every day.
We recommend good shoes that you don’t mind getting wet, because you will be walking through the river and the water will get knee-deep.
