Brockway Hot Springs are located directly at the lakefront. Who knew Lake Tahoe has hot springs that are quite literally right at the lake. There is also a big heated swimming pool that uses hot spring water to stay warm year-round.

Brockway Springs is a private community, hence the hot springs cannot be accessed by the public. However, if you stay at the property you can then make use of the thermal pool.

Grover Hot Springs

Grover Hot Springs are located in Markleeville South of Lake Tahoe and is part of the Grover Hot Springs State Park that offers great hikes and camping.

At the Grover Hot Springs near South Lake Tahoe, you get both, a hot pool and a cool swimming pool.

To soak in the hot springs you need to book a session in advance. A session lasts 1.5 hours and costs 10 USD (adult) / 5 USD (child).

Note: Due to the destructive fire in 2021 around Lake Tahoe, Grover Hot Springs remain closed for reconstruction until further notice.

1862 David Walley’s Resort

The other South Lake Tahoe hot springs is the historic 1862 David Wally’s Hot Springs Resort also known as Holiday Inn Club Vacations, Dave Walley. The natural hot springs site is a hot springs resort Southeast of Lake Tahoe set in the Sierra Nevada mountains in Genoa, Nevada.

The historic David Walley’s Resort is a rustic mountain lodge with 5 hot springs pools with great mountain views. The temperatures of the mineral hot spring tubs range from 98 to 104 degrees.

In order to take a soak in these hot springs near South Lake Tahoe, one must pay 55 USD, which is quite pricey. Even resort guests are not exempt.

Sierra Hot Springs Resort

The Sierra Hot Springs are located in Sierraville, California. These Tahoe hot sprIngs are part of the Sierra Hot Springs Resort, which is set in an 1870s historic lodge on the edge of Tahoe National Forest.

The small resort features 5 quirky, individually decorated rooms for hot spring lovers who like to stay overnight.

The Sierra Hot Springs

The Sierra Hot Springs in Tahoe offers multiple hot springs pools. One indoor tub underneath a dome structure, one larger hot spring pool with a sundeck, and multiple smaller natural hot spring tubs spread out along a foresty area. In addition, there is also a sauna and cold shower that hot spring guests can use.

The day-use fee is 30 USD per person plus a membership fee of 5 USD that lasts for a month. The membership also gives you access to Harbin Hot Springs in Middletown, CA.

Carson Hot Springs

Carson Hot Springs is part of the Carson Hot Springs Resort located in the Northeast of Lake Tahoe in Carson City, Nevada.

The Nevada hot springs feature a large outdoor pool and two smaller hot spring tubs as well as nine private indoor soaking tubs.

The outdoor pool can be used for a fee of 15 USD per person for 2 hours. The private indoor hot spring tubs will cost you 28 USD, with the use of the outdoor pool included.

Whichever option you choose at the Carson City hot sprIngs, the use of the sauna is included. Reservations aren’t needed, it’s first come, first serve.

Reno Hot Springs


Steamboat Hot Springs

Steamboat Hot Springs are natural hot sprIngs near Reno, Nevada. The Reno hot springs are set in a historic building from the 1860s which used to be a 34-bed hospital that used the natural healing properties of the hot springs water to treat patients. The doctor running the hospital back then actually got his hydrotherapy training in Bavaria, Germany.

A 1-hour indoor private mineral bath costs 25 USD per person and 45 USD per couple. The use of the outdoor tubs is included. Soaking in the outdoor tubs only will cost you 15 USD for one hour.

Steamboat Hot Springs Reno also offers massage and other wellness treatments that you can book in addition.
